Join us for Chicago's First Screening of the Documentary, Smell of Money

What is the Price we Pay for the World’s Pork?

In collaboration with our partners, Crate Free USA, we are excited to invite you to an exclusive screening of the eye-opening documentary Smell of Money in Chicago on Saturday April 20th.

This is the movie's FIRST time showing in Chicagoland. The documentary reveals the truth about our meat industry and who suffers because of factory farming.

Informative, inspiring, and eye-opening, this is the real-life story of how an underserved North Carolina community took on Smithfield, North America’s largest pork producer, in a fight for their rights to clean air, pure water, and a life free from the stench of shit. It is the true story of everyday people standing up to agricultural titans, in a battle with life-or-death consequences and an inside look at the environmental, social, and animal welfare impacts of the pork industry. Check out the trailer here.

Produced by writer and filmmaker Jamie Berger, as well as actors and filmmakers, Kate Mara, and Travon Free, this documentary makes us think a little more about the ethical and ecological issues of animal agriculture, and how we can make more conscious choices about what we eat and how we treat other living beings.

We will be following the movie with a panel discussion with:

  • Dr. Tyson-Lord Gray – Consulting Producer, The Smell of Money

  • Tyler Lobdell – Attorney, Food, and Water Watch

  • Jody Osmund - Owner, Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm CSA.

Location: Music Box Theatre, Chicago

Date: Saturday, April 20th at 4:30 pm (doors open at 4:10 pm)

If you are unable to attend but would like to support FACT's work to end factory farming and support local humane farmers, please consider making a donation today.
