Join us for a Farm to Table Dinner and Celebration for FACT's 40th Anniversary

By Charlotte Isles, Development Associate

As our 40th Anniversary celebrations continue, we wanted to share more about our Farm-to-Table Celebration coming up on Sunday October 2.

We wanted to make this a very unique event where guests will have the opportunity to meet with local humane farmers, FACT's Executive Director, and Board Members and enjoy an incredible humanely produced five course meal and wine (the menu will be announced in early September).

We’re excited to be hosting the dinner at Duke's Alehouse and Kitchen in Crystal Lake, Illinois, a 3-star Green Restaurant Certified eco-conscious gastropub featuring gourmet sandwiches, burgers, and comfort foods utilizing ingredients from McHenry County's most sustainable farms. For this dinner, Duke's will be sourcing meats from Terra Vitae Farms and produce from Broadview Farm and Gardens. These are both local farms that received a FACT Fund-a-Farmer grant this year.

Here is a little more about the farms and you will also have the opportunity to chat with the farmers during the dinner:

Terra Vitae Farms owned by Mike and Colleen Biver and Colleen's parents, Kevin and Katie Kelley in Woodstock, Illinois is a regenerative farm with the goal to produce the healthiest meat possible. Their philosophy is 'Better for You. Better for them. Better for the Earth'.

Tim and Delicia Brown, owners of Broadview Farm and Gardens in Marengo, Illinois aim to serve their community and others with a variety of responsibly grown vegetables, fruit, meat, and eggs. They keep their practices transparent and holistic with the goal of sustainability using minimal amounts of machinery and outside labor.

We would also like to thank our sponsors for the event, Cheryl Rohlfs and Associates, Illinois Stewardship Alliance, and United GMG.

Tickets are very limited so please sign up soon to secure your spot:

We also have one free ticket that we would like to give to a farmer or someone in FACT’s network. If you are interested or know someone that is, please let us know.

We understand that many of our supporters are not local to the area and we hope to do more events in different locations in the future. To stay up to date with all our latest news, please join our mailing list located in the footer of our home page.

Please reach out to me at cisles@foodanimalconcerns.org if you have any questions.
